544. The risen Saviour stands

1 The risen Saviour stands
With wounded brow and hands,
In loving tone demands;
O tell Me, dost thou love?

2 Thy question, Saviour dear,
Falls on my list’ning ear,
And makes me ask in fear
Lord Jesus, do I love?

3 I think upon the scorn
Which Thou for me hast borne,
And sigh, when weak and worn,
Lord Jesus, do I love?

4 My faith, O Lord, is weak,
Yet lowlily and meek,
This answer would I speak,
Thou knowest that I love.
