35. Love and Blessings

1 For all the tenderness of love,
For all the blessings from above,
For all God’s gracious promises for faith to prove,
My soul doth bless the Lord.

To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
My praise shall evermore be giv’n;
By faith and pray’r, by works of love,
While on my way to Heav’n.

2 Blest Holy Spirit, speak to me,
Help me the things of Christ to see,
Help me like Christ, my Lord, in word and deed to be,
Each day and hour, alway. [Refrain]

3 And when my work on earth is done,
When I my golden crown have won,
For me to see the lovely face of God’s dear Son,
Will be enough reward. [Refrain]
