| Tune: | [In the morning of life we are coming to Him] |
| Composer: | Rev. O. J. Randall |
1 In the morning of life we are coming to Him
Who promises us He will guard us from sin;
If we will but trust Him, His good word obey,
And follow Him closely on life’s rugged highway.
Refrain:
Blest Saviour, and Teacher, dear Friend and Guide,
My heart’s love I give Thee, in Thee I’d abide—
To honor and serve Thee all my life long,
And with heaven’s bright angels sing the glad glory song.
2 For with hearts that are right, and with lives that are pure
We do want to serve Him whose word standeth sure;
So, while we are young, in the vigor of youth,
We’ll take our stand firmly on the side of the truth. [Refrain]
3 No, we ought not to wait till our days are half done
Before we shall offer our lives to God’s Son;
We own His full right in our heart’s throne to reign
And His word believe that counteth godliness gain. [Refrain]
4 We will sing of His love who doth bless all our days,
And we will try humbly to walk in His ways;
When our work is ended, when sets our life’s sun,
Our Saviour will then say: “Faithful servant, well done.” [Refrain]
