145. The Needy Ones of Earth

1 Listen to the voice of the Savior dear,
He speaks a word of matchless worth;
"Seek the needy, poor and sad,
Give them aid and make them glad;
Seek ye now the needy ones of earth."

Refrain:
"Whatsoever ye may do,
With a heart of love, a purpose true,
In my Word ye shall see,
Ye have done it for Me,
And My blessing I give unto you."

2 Tarry not and turn not in scorn and pride,
But follow in His steps today;
Seek them out, the weak, the poor,
Give them comfort, swift and sure,
Ye shall surely hear the Savior say: [Refrain]

3 Journey on your way with a watchful eye,
Journey with an outstretched hand;
Seek the needy, dry their tears,
Heal their sorrows, calm their fears,
Jesus sees and gladly understands. [Refrain]
