23. Never Walking Alone

1 I have a cross that I must bear,
And you may have one, too,
But I have a Friend, my cross to share,
Who’ll do just the same for you.

Refrain:
I will carry my cross without complaining,
I will bear my burden with a smile,
For the sun is shining when it’s raining,
Though the clouds hide its beauty for a while.
I’ll remember whatever may betide me,
There is One to whom my need is known,
For the loving Jesus is beside me
And I’m never walking alone.

2 I have a burden none may know
But One who understands,
And always I feel it lighter grow,
Upheld by His loving hand. [Refrain]

3 Lord, give me strength my cross to bear,
But no my cross, alone,
For when I another’s burden share,
I find mine has lighter grown. [Refrain]
