| Text: | Little Gleaners |
| Author: | Miss M. E. Servoss |
| Tune: | [The fields are white for the harvest] |
| Composer: | Belle |
1 The fields are white for the harvest,
The reaper's work is begun,
Many a soul is garnered in,
Many a poor heart won;
But the fields are large and scattered,
And the harvesters are few,
Is there no work in harvest time
A little child can do.
Chorus:
Yes, we will be little gleaners,
We will do the best we can,
And that is all the Savior asks,
Either of child or man.
2 The fields are white for the harvest,
As the reapers cut the wheat,
The gleaners gather up the heads
That scatter at their feet;
And as they work they remember,
How the loving Savior told,
Of one who left the flock to find
The lost lamb of the fold. [Chorus]
3 The fields are white for the harvest,
And the harvesters are few,
But when the children older grow,
Then they'll be reapers too;
But now, while little children,
Some good they'll find to do,
If they but work for Him who is
Both gentle, kind and true. [Chorus]
