Text: | Joy in Service |
Author: | Edith Sanford Tillotson |
Tune: | [There is joy in all that we can find to do] |
Composer: | Clinton D. Lowden |
1 There is joy in all that we can find to do,
For the dear Redeemer whom we love,
There’s an exultation, and a promise true,
Of the far greater bliss stored up above.
Chorus:
Joy in all we do, joy in all we say,
Gladness in our hearts, peace and blessing night and day,
Whatsoe’er betide, happiness ‘twill bring,
Joy we’ll surely find in the service of our King.
2 There is joy that lightens ev’ry burd’ning load,
And that smoothes the roughest path we tread,
There is joy that brightens ev’ry darkened road,
Like a rainbow of glory overhead. [Chorus]
3 There is joy in labor for our Lord and King,
In obedience to His holy will,
For whatever the service that to Him we bring
Our reward will be richer, sweeter still. [Chorus]
