1 Sweet Sunday-school, place dear to me,
Where'er through life I roam,
My heart will often turn to thee,
My childhood's Sunday-school.
Chorus:
The Sunday-school, The Sunday-school,
Oh! 'tis the place I love,
For there I learn the golden rule,
Which leads to joys above.
2 Within thy courts of Him I've heard,
Whose birth the angels sung,
When o'er the shepherds, fill'd with fear,
The star of glory hung. [Chorus]
3 When all our wand'rings here shall cease,
And cares of life shall end,
In God's eternal dwelling-place,
May we our anthems blend. [Chorus]
