37. I Would Not Do Without Him

1 When the power of evil is near,
Then the smile of my Lord I see;
In temptation’s dark hour He is near,
And is always keeping me.

I could not do without Him if I would,

Since from sin He set me free,
He is always blessing me,

2 When the friendships of earth prove untrue,
Still the love of my Lord I see;
