136. I'll Sing for Christ

1 For Jesus Christ my Savior
I sing this song of love,
For Him who to a manger
Came from His home above;
From sin and shame to save me,
Incarnate God became;
Immanuel, my Savior,
Oh, praise, yes, praise His name!
Dear Lord, how could it be true
That Thou shouldst care for me,
And leave Thy throne celestial
To die on Calv’ry’s tree?
Oh, love, past understanding,
Oh, grace divinely free!
Oh, glory to my Savior
Who saves a wretch like me!

2 Full pardon now He gives me,
My guilt He takes away,
No condemnation have I
In Jesus Christ today;
My heart in full surrender
I gladly now resign;
Dear Lord, now make me holy,
Give me a heart like Thine:
Thou art my sanctifier,
Thy blood avails for me;
Inheritance most precious,
Received by faith in Thee;
When Thou shalt come in glory,
Thy dear face then I’ll see,
With Thee rejoice forever
In immortality.
