1 From whence does this union arise,
That hatred is conquered by love?
It hastens our souls with such ties,
That distance nor time can remove.

2 It can not in Eden be found,
Nor yet in a Paradise lost;
It grows on Immanuel's ground,
And Jesus' life blood it has cost.

3 My friends so endeared unto me,
Our souls so united in love,
Where Jesus is gone we shall be,
In yonder blest mansions above.

4 And then we shall see that bright day,
And join with the angels above;
Set free from our prisons of clay,
United in Jesus' kind love.
