23. Song of the Seasons

1 When the April wind runs by,
There is none so glad as I.
Oh, the joy beyond all telling
After spring showers!
How I love the summer sea
And the waves that play with me!
Lord, I thank Thee for the springtime,
And the summer hours.

2 In the autumn I have stood
In the silent golden wood;
In the winter seen the wonder
Words have not spoken.
Tho' the world should trouble me,
May I trust, O Lord, in Thee.
Let the seasons speak to me of
Promises unbroken.
