77. Trusting in His Word

1 I am trusting in the promise
Of the Saviour’s blessed word;
I am saved from all my vileness
Through the merits of his blood.

Refrain:
I am saved; oh, wondrous story!
I am saved thro’ Jesus’ blood;
I am saved; I’m fully resting
On the promise of his word.

2 I am crying, “Abba Father,”
For the promise I believe,
If from sin I turn, and trust him,
Endless life I then receive. [Refrain]

3 From my sins forever turning,
I receive thee now, O Lord;
I will follow, love and serve thee,
Resting wholly on thy word. [Refrain]

4 Holy Spirit, gracious Witness,
Make the word all power to me;
I am trusting, fully trusting,
I am now from sin set free. [Refrain]
