32. "How brightly, how brightly!"

1 How brightly, how brightly the sun moves along,
From the east to the west all through the sky!
How lovely, how lovely the moon looks among
All the stars, as they sparkle, sparkle on high!
These glorious lights to us were given,
To raise our thoughts from earth to heaven;
How brightly, how brightly all move along,
How brightly they light the world from on high!

2 How swiftly, how swiftly the bird flies away
To his home in the tall, green forest tree!
How sweetly, how sweetly he sings all the day,
And is happy and gay as bird can be!
'Tis thus he tells of favors given;
And while he sings he soars to heaven;
How sweetly, how sweetly singing all day,
A teacher of love and goodness is he.
