1 The Lord, our God, enthron'd in State,
Is with unrivall'd Glory, great;
A King superior far to All,
Whom Pagans by his Title call,
2 The Depths of Earth are in his Hand,
Her secret Wealth at his Command;
The Strength of Hills, that threat the Skies,
Subjected to his Empire lies.
3 The rolling Ocean's vast Abyss,
By the same sov'reign Right is his:
'Tis mov'd by his Almighty Hand,
That form'd and fix'd the solid Land.
4 In him the sov'reign Right remains
Of all, taht Earth or Heav'n contains;
Angels and Men must Him alone
Their Maker and Preserver own.
