1 Whom then in Heav'n, but Thee alone,
Have I, whose Favour I require?
Thro'out the spacious Earth there's none,
Whom, besides Thee, I can desire.
2 My trembling Flesh and aching Heart
May often fail to succour me:
But Thou shalt inward Strength impart,
And my eternal Portion be.
3 For they, that far from Thee remove,
Shall into sudden Ruin fall:
If after other Pow'rs they rove,
Thy Vengeance shall destroy them all.
4 But as for me, 'tis good and just,
That I should still to Thee repair:
In Thee I always put my Trust,
And will thy wondrous Love declare.
