1 Thou, O my Soul, securely rest,
Thy Guardian will not sleep;
His watchful Care, that Myriads guards
Will thee in Safety keep.
2 Shelter'd beneath th' Almighty's Wings,
Thy wonted Peace enjoy;
Nor Sun, nor baneful Star, shall thee
By Night or Day annoy.
3 From common Accidents of Life
His Care shall guard thee still;
From the blind Strokes of Chance, and Hoes,
That lye in wait to kill.
4 At Home, Abroad, in Peace, in War,
Thy God shall thee defend;
Conduct thee thro' Life's Pilgrimage;
Safe to thy Journey's End.
