29. The Lord Will Go Before You

1 The Lord hath said that He will guide
And ever walk close by our side;
But better still for falt’ring feet,
This promise comes so clear and sweet.

2 We need not shrink nor fearful be,
Tho’ all the way we cannot see,
For just ahead, where’er we are,

The promise rings with sweetest chime. [Refrain]

4 ‘Tis ours to follow, brave and true,
Until the river’s brink we view,
