Ye happy praying band;
Tho' in this world you suffer loss,
You'll reach fair Canaan’s land;

Let us never mind the scoffs nor the frowns of the world,
For we've all got the cross to bear;
It will only make the crown the brighter to shine,
When we have the crown to wear.

2 All earthly pleasure we'll forsake,
When heaven appears in view,
In Jesus' strength we'll undertake
