1 Lo! He comes with clouds descending,
Once for favored sinners slain:
Thousand--thousand saints attending,
Swell the triumph of his train:
Hallelujah!
Jesus Christ shall ever reign!

2 Every eye shall then behold Him
Robed in awful majesty--
Those who set at naught, and sold Him,
Pierced and nail'd Him to a tree--
Deeply wailing,
Shall the true Messiah see!

3 O, may thine own Bride and Spirit
Then avert a dreadful doom--
And me summon to inherit
An eternal blissful home:--
Ah! come quickly!
Let Thy second Advent come!
