86. We Meet in Thy Name

1 Jesus, in thy name we meet,
Humbly bowing at thy feet,
Calmly soothe each troubled brow,
Give to us thy blessing now.

Savior, in thy precious name,
We the promised blessing claim,
Meeting humbly in thy name.

2 Truly we may trust thee, Lord,
To fulfill thy blessed word,
Whatsoe’er we ask of thee,
In thy name shall given be. [Refrain]

3 Grant thy sweet forgiving peace,
Then shall storm and tempest cease;
In each heart, at war with sin,
Reign triumphant, Lord, within. [Refrain]

4 Gladly now again we meet,
Mingle in communion sweet,
Be our hearts with love aflame,
While we worship in thy name. [Refrain]
