84. The Sunlit Hills

1 O the way of life is rugged, and my feet are bruised and torn,
And my heart is often crushed beneath the burden of life’s ills;
But I’ll find a sweet deliv’rance on that bright, supernal morn,
When I leave this misty valley, and climb the sunlit hills.

O my soul is filled with glory, and my heart with rapture thrills
As I think of that bright moment, when shall dawn th’eternal day,

2 “Let the world despise and leave me, they have left my Savior, too,”
They have spurned His blessed counsel, with their stubborn hearts and wills;
But I’ll bear the cross for Jesus, I will love and serve Him, too,
