312. Come, comrades dear, who love the Lord

1 Come, comrades dear, who love the Lord,
Who taste the sweets of Jesus’ word,
In Jesus’ ways go on;
Our troubles and our trials here
Will only make us richer there,
When we arrive at home.

2 We feel that Heaven is now begun;
It issues from the sparkling throne,
From Jesus’ throne on high.
And he will lead his soldiers forth
To living streams of richest worth
That never will run dry.

3 And then we’ll shine and shout and sing,
And make the heavenly arches ring,
When all the saints get home.
Come on, come on, my comrades dear,
We soon shall meet together there,
For Jesus bids us come.

4 Amen, amen, my soul replies;
I’m bound to meet you in the skies,
And claim a mansion there.
Now, here’s my heart and here’s my hand,
To meet you in that heavenly land,
Where we shall part no more.
