61. Young Workers

1 Young worker in life's vineyard,
With hands upon the plough,
With grand and steadfast purpose,
Bright eyes and noble brow;
The flush of hope upon thee,
The firm will to succeed
Be true to thy conviction,
In tho't and word and deed.

2 Before thee looms they labor,
Throughout the coming years;
It's started now with gladness,
Tho' sought with sighs and tears.
Be faithful to thy mission,
Let naught turn thee aside:
Then you'll reap life's fruition,
As by the years shall glide.

3 You'll harken then with rapture
To the angelic call,
To leave your gathered harvest,
Of golden grain in fall.
And go to join the angels,
Who've helped you by their might,
And they will give you welcome
To their fair realms of light.
