Close to the dear Master’s feet,
All of my sins now confessing
I wait for His pardon sweet.
There at the fountain I linger,
Weary and tired of sin,
Into the flood, the soul cleansing blood,
O help me to enter in!

Close to the stream’s gentle flow,
Near to that grand, flowing river,
My heart yearneth now to go.
Earnestly longing for comfort,
Covered all over with sin,
Into the flood, the soul cleansing blood,

3 There at the fountain of blessing,
Stood I in deepest despair,
Close by the fount,—blessed vision—
My Saviour was standing there!
