1 We would be little sunbeams bright,
Shining out with a golden light,
Driving, the shadows far away,
Turning the night to cloudless day.
Shining, shining, loving Jesus so,
Scatt’ring the sunlight ev’rywhere,
Ev’rywhere we go.

2 We would be little blossoms sweet,
Bowing low at the Savior’s feet,
Forming a garland light and gay,
Filling with cheer some lonely way.
Blooming, blooming, planted by his hand,
Growing for his garden fair,
In the better land.

3 We would be little birds of praise,
Joyful songs for the Lord we’ll raise,
Bringing our treasures pure and sweet,
Laying them all at Jesus’ feet.
Singing, singing, lifting heart and voice;
For his countless blessings
Evermore rejoice.
