136. Master, Here Am I

1 The Master’s field is ready for the sowing,
And the Gospel is the good seed;
He calls for those whose hearts with love are glowing,
To be working in his field.

Let ev’ry loyal servant
Now answer, Here am I;
And hasten with the sowing,
For time is hasting by.
O surely as you love him
Your heart will make replay:
As thou hast need of workers,
Master, here am I.

2 The Master loves his sheep and wants them near him,
And he guards them from all danger;
But oft they wander far and cannot hear him;
Some are dying, dying now. [Chorus]

3 The Master’s yoke is easy for the wearer,
For his mercy is beneath it;
He makes his burden light for ev’ry-bearer
By his presence and his grace. [Chorus]
