44. Love the Dear Savior

1 Have you made Jesus your Friend and your Savior,
Renouncing the world and forsaking all sin?
Have you returned to His love and His favor,
Resolving a heavenly life to begin?

Refrain:
Love Him, love the dear Savior;
Love Him, love Him forever;
Love Him, stray from Him never,
Walk in His footsteps alway.

2 Have you decided to follow the Savior,
To be His disciple and serve Him alway,
Leaving the pleasures and joys of the worldling,
To walk with the Lord in the heavenly way? [Refrain]

3 Are you now living the life of a Christian,
Devoting yourself to His service of love,
Trusting, beyond all earth’s toiling and praying,
To reign with the Savior in mansions above? [Refrain]

4 Strive then, my brother, to win for the Savior
The jewels down-trodden in sin and despair,
Lifting the fallen with love’s divine power,
Until they, with us, in His glory shall share. [Refrain]
