1 Erect your heads, eternal gates,
Unfold to entertain
The King of Glory, see he comes
With his celestial train.
2 Who is this King of glory? who?
The Lord for strength renown'd;
in battle mighty; o'er his foes
Eternal victor crown'd.
3 See flaming armies round him throng,
To guard him to the skies;
With loud hosannas on their tongue,
And triumph in their eyes.
4 In awful state, the conqu'ring God
Ascends his shining throne;
While tuneful Angels sound abroad,
The vict'ries he has won.
