1 Rejoice! Ye children of a King,
And tell salvation’s story,
The old all-absorbing theme
That angels sing in glory.
Rejoice! For life is new and sweet,
‘Tis seal’d with promise tender,
O walk his ways with willing feet!
And loving service render.

Heirs to mansions bright above;

Encircled by his power,
Beneath the shadow of his wings
Rejoice! Tho’ clouds may lower.
Rejoice! And travel calmly on,
Tho’ rough the way and lonely,
O lay your burdens at his feet,
And trust in Jesus only. [Refrain]

Away with gloom and sadness!
For heirs to mansions in the skies,
