1 We are praying, Lord, at this very hour,
For sustaining grace to go forth today,
By Thy Spirit blessed with convicting pow’r;
For the showers, Lord, we pray.

Let the blessings fall today;
In our Saviour’s name we a blessing claim,

2 Let Thy will hold sway ev’ry heart within,
May a new infilling be ours today,
Give us grace to conquer each lurking sin,

3 As in olden times by Thy Spirit’s fire,
Thou didst burn up dross in Thy mighty way,
With a rich outpouring our souls inspire;
