747. Let children that would fear the Lord

1 Let children that would fear the Lord,
Hear what their teachers say;
With reverence meet their parents' word,
And with delight obey.

2 Judgments that fill the soul with awe
Are written by the Lord,
For him that breaks his father's law,
Or mocks his mother's word.

3 But those who worship God, and give
Their parents honor due,
The blessings of this life receive,
And life hereafter, too.
