28. Psalme 3

1 O Lord who are my foes increast,
which vexe me more and more:
they kill my heart when as they say,
God can him not restore.
But thou O Lord art my defence,
when I am hard bested,
my worship and mine honour both,
and thou holdst up my head.

2 Then with my voyce unto the lord,
I did both call and cry:
And he out of his holy hill,,
did heare me by and by.
I laid me downe and quetly
I slept and rose againe:
For why? I know assuredly,
the Lord will me sustaine.

3 If ten thousand had hem'd me in,
I could not be afraid:
For thou art still my Lord my God,
my Saviour and my aid.
Rise up therefore, save me my God,
for now to thee I call:
For thou hast broke the cheekes & teeth
of these wicked men all.

4 Salvation onely doth belong
to thee O Lord above:
Thou dost bestow upon thy folke
thy blessing and thy love.
