141. Forever be praised

1 Forever be praised, God’s spirit of grace, That from Thee I learn How friendly my Saviour To sinners doth turn. 2 If only my thought Entirely were fraught, With soul and with voice To cause, O, my Saviour, Thy heart to rejoice! 3 The hours are gone And gain there is none, If they were not spent In trusting in Jesus Who to us was sent. 4 My spirit this day Will faithfully say; Reign Thou in my heart; Thy counsel and wisdom From me not depart! 5 O blessed are they In holy array, Who with eager mind Salvation in Jesus Did seek and did find!
