222. O blissful hour and holy

1 O blissful hour and holy, When in God’s cov’nant truly Through Christ’s blood I did pass. There was I blest forever, From Satan’s realm was severed, When I received that holy bath. 2 According to God’s pleasure, Christ’s grace in richest measure He did on me bestow. There was to me accorded The holy gift afforded, When Jesus Christ I learned to know. 3 Joined to His congregation In blest association, Washed in His precious blood, From ev’ry bold transgression I now find consolation; How kind and merciful is God! 4 I was with Him related And in His fold instated, A lamb of Jesus’ flock, Which is in Christ united, And through His wounds requited; I anchor now upon this rock.
