3. The heavens with God’s praise resound

1 The heavens with God’s praise resound;
It reaches earth’s remotest bound,
Where’er our gaze is wended.
Blest is the country, blest the clime,
To which the Word of Life sublime
Of light and truth is sended.
Truthful, joyful,
Heart renewing, sin subduing,
Comfort spending,
To the soul its glory lending.

2 Though all this world should pass away,
The truthful Word of God will stay.
It gives us bread from heaven,
Illuminates our earthly course,
Of strength and courage is the source.
The humble now are given
Knowledge, wisdom,
Earth relenteth; faith ascendeth
Pure, immortal,
Out of death to heaven’s portal.

3 All honor to our Saviour’s name!
His everlasting gospel’s fame
Throughout the earth resoundeth.
On angel’s wings it swiftly flies,
With voice and accent sweetly cries,
“Redemption now aboundeth.”
Amen! Amen!
Invitations to all nations
God has given.
Through Him earth is turned to heaven.
