101. Lord, I'm A Wayward Child

1 Lord, I'm a wayward child,
Wandered from home;
In this dark desert wild
Sinful I roam
Far, far from thee, my Lord,
Far from thy holy word;
With sin and shams defiled,
Father, I come!

2 Humbly I bow to thee,
With sin oppressed.
Can there yet mercy be?
Can I find rest
In my Redeemer's love,
Which flows from Heaven above,
That we might ever be
Happy and blest?

3 Turn to thy Saviour now,
He will forgive;
He died on Calv'ry's brow
That you might live;
Look, look to Him for aid;
Hope, trust, be not dismayed;
He will receive you now
If you believe.
