| Text: | Death Of A Scholar |
| Author: | A. W. Orwig |
| Tune: | [Death has been here, and from our midst] |
| Composer: | Gabriel Miesse |
1 Death has been here, and from our midst
Has rudely borne away,
One whom we always loved to greet,
Each holy Sabbath day.
2 And while we keenly feel our loss,
And o'er his absence weep,
We will not mourn in bitterness;
In Christ he fell asleep.
3 Oh, let us all the Saviour seek,
And walk the narrow way,
And then sometime we too shall rise
To everlasting day.
