How can I add new hymnals?

You are here

I have a pretty decent collection of hymnals, many of which are not listen on hymnary.org. When I try to add a hymnal through the web interface, I get a page that says I don't have the authority to do that. Is there a way to get permission?

Thank you for offering to add your hymnals to our site. We welcome them! We ask that you go through a little training first. The training involves reviewing our Wiki page (http://www.hymnary.org/wiki) - especially the Introduction and the Adding a Hymnal sections, taking a short quiz that covers the information in the Wiki, and completing a training hymnal. A hymnal can be added either by completing a set of spreadsheets or by adding the information directly through the web interface. If you decide to enter a hymnal through the web interface, then you should also go through the Connecting Authorities Tutorial to understand authority resolution. The spreadsheet route has a more automated method for authority resolution so it is probably the easiest method for adding a hymnal.
