Alphabetization glitch

You are here

When I search for hymnals with titles beginning with H, which are expected to be presented in alphabetical order, why is the first item "Hymnal Amore Dei", preceding even "Hail the King"?

In the same vein, why, in My Hymnals, does the African American Heritage Hymnal come before Adoru, and why are some hymnals whose titles begin with "The" filed under "T" and others under "B" or "N", and why is the "The" in "Worshiping Church, The" given after "Worshiping Church", yet the hymnal is filed under "T" rather than "W". I am guessing that some of this is due to alphabetization by identifier rather than by title. This is not helpful to the user, who cannot be expected to know the identifier by heart.
