Hymn to Submit

You are here

Hi,

An old Pastor friend of mine wrote a hymn that was circulated widely among Nazarene Churches throughout the country, back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Somewhere along the way, the music was lost to him, but I finally found someone who still had the original copyrighted sheet music. I took time to scan and clean it up. I would like to get it onto hymnary.org so that it does not get lost again; it deserves to be preserved. I don't see it anywhere on the hymnary or elsewhere on the Internet.

Please tell me how to get this done. I can provide images, PDFs, the text, the Pastor's name, and a bio if needed.

Thanks!

Jeff

Go to The Cyber Hymnal™ at hymntime.com (NOT the stolen version at cyberhymnal.org) and see if there's a link to contact the owner. Or you could email it to me at rosharuo@gmail.com and I'll see what I can do. I'm assuming you have the copyright owner's permission to distribute text and tune freely.

Hi, Haruo,

Thank you for responding. Yes, I know the composer personally. He has been sending over his information to help populate the entry. I will do as you suggested or I will email you for help and include him in the cc.

Thanks for your assistance.

Jeff

Just for the record if anybody else is following this thread, I have been in direct email contact with the author of the hymn in question, as well as with Jeff, and will be working week after next on finding a good way to make it available through Hymnary.org's database.
