We don't like to raise our prices on FlexScores, but it's been a long time since we did so, and we are quite overdue for an increase. We want to make this change as transparently as possible, and we also want to give people plenty of time to plan for the extra cost (and/or stock up on FlexScores at today's prices!).
Here are the specifics:
- Single-Instrument FlexScores will be increasing from $1.99 to $2.99
- All-Instrument FlexScores will be increasing from $9.99 to $11.99
- FlexScore Subscriptions will be increasing from $34.99 to $39.99
Existing purchases won't be impacted.
To give people plenty of time to prepare, the old prices will stay intact for the remainder of the summer. This price increase will kick in the day after Labor Day in the U.S. and Canada: Tuesday, September 5.
We recognize that some folks may not even be aware of our FlexScore service. If that applies to you, please know that FlexScores are, as the name suggests, flexible scores that let you print out lead sheets, large print, bulletin or projection (melody or harmony) formats of hymns. You can also print out scores for orchestral instruments including brass and strings, or transpose, and resize music and text.
They are a really nice product that many Hymnary.org users take advantage of for their worship purposes.
They can be used more than once (printing new copies each time) and the current $9.99 FlexScore is for a single hymn and includes all the formats for that hymn – 14 instrument scores, lead sheet, bulletin scores, large print, projection, pew and accompaniment (if different from pew). All formats are able to be altered, for example by transposing or resizing.
By contrast, $1.99 buys one format of the hymn and allows the score to be altered as compared to the $9.99 that buys all the available formats. Meanwhile, FlexScore subscribers can access all Public Domain FlexScores, which is currently about 75% of the total number of FlexScores on Hymnary, so a subscription provides access to a lot of content.
