Samuel Akeroyde, born in Yorkshire, England, latter half of the 17th century. He contributed songs to the Third Part of D'Urfey's Don Quixote in 1696. His songs are also found in the Theatre of Music (1685-87), Viniculum societatis (1687), Comes amoris (1687-94), Gentleman's Journal (1692-94) Thesaurus musicus (1693-96), and other collections.
