Arlott, (Leslie Thomas) John. (Basingstoke, Hampshire, England, February 25, 1914- ). Son of William John and Nellie (Jenvey) Arlott. Queen Mary's School, Basingstoke. Civil servant, police detective, newspaper columnist and sports writer. Poet and anthologist. His hymns were published in the BBC Hymn Book of 1951.
