Joseph Dana Bartley was a teacher and principal of several schools on the East Coast, well as an author and editor. He was born September 17, 1838 in Hamstead, NH. He studied at Atkinson Academy, NH and graduated from Williams College in 1859. He attended Princeton Seminary for one year.
