Edward Lawrence Bevir was born in 1847. He lived in both Italy and France. He was a member of the Plymouth Brethren church. For many years he was the editor of the magazine Helps for the Poor of the Flock. He died on October 29, 1922 in Valence-sur-Rhône, France.
