Buried: Ri­ver­hurst Cem­e­tery, End­well, New York.

Born to Da­nish im­mi­grant par­ents, Bowen was known as a po­et and church lead­er. She be­longed to the First Meth­od­ist Church in En­di­cott, New York, and taught Sun­day school class­es for 50 years.
