Fitch, William. (Falkirk, Scotland, July 10, 1911-March 23, 1984, Toronto, Canada [Glasgow Herald]). Presbyterian. University of Glasgow, M.A., 1932; B.D., 1935; Ph.D., 1943. Pastorates at Newmilnes, 1936-1943; Glasgow, 1943-1955; Toronto, Ontario, 1955-1972. From 1972, director of the Church Renewal Foundation, and evangelist-at-large, for the Presbyterian Church in Canada. Author of some twenty books of Biblical exposition on great themes. He was chairman of the committee which prepared the Book of Praise (1972), to which he contributed one hymn.
