Full Name: Roberts, J. T. (James Thomas)
Birth Year: 1850

Born December 22, 1850, Luton, Bedfordshire, England. Roberts was educated for the ministry at the Baptist College, Chilwell, near Nottingham, and in 1874, became pastor of the Baptist church at Retford, Nottinghamshire. He later served in Grimsby, and in West Vale, near Halifax, Yorkshire. He then retired and entered business in Luton. While in West Vale, Roberts composed several hymns for use on Sunday school anniversaries.
