Thoburn, Helen. (Union City, Pennsylvania, June 17, 1885--February 3, 1932, New York City). One of a long line of Methodists engaged in religious work. After her graduation from Leland Stanford University she was appointed a secretary of the Y.W.C.A. to do editorial work in China where she spent eight years. Upon relinquishing this work she returned to the United States and undertook special responsibility for the international educational program of the Association. She died suddenly in New York City where she made her home upon her return from China.
